would comic book boards be good to store fabric around?

here is the site that i found the idea on:

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=261176.0

you will see it on that page.

this is what i think she uses:

http://cgi.ebay.com/100-BCW-CURRENT-SIZE-COMIC-BOOK-BAGS-AND-BOARDS_W0QQitemZ180292710221QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item180292710221&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

is that the same thing she uses. will it work if i have a bunch of the same fabric (or is it just best for small leftover pieces),

also if you could tell me where i could get this type of storage for crafts:

i love the lights under the shelves and everything she has to store her crafts. know of anywhere i could get things like this to go in my room. thanks. :)

oh, i love that idea of storing fabric ! i’m going to get down to it right away myself. my fabric is mostly stacked one above the other in separate transparent containers or bags or pouches. my scraps are in a big cardboard box [which is already overflowing ;-(

can't really say about the comic book boards - they should work [and for smaller lengths you can even cut out the sheet to desired size].

i’m going to use thin cardboard sheets [like you get with shirts, etc. or even cereal boxes]. since they will be lined vertically, only a little support is needed.

re. the shelf lights : you can have/convert simple shelves with light fittings. you can get that done through a carpenter, etc. that way you can get exactly what you want in terms of size, shape, number & placement of shelves – fully customized. it’ll also probably be cheaper.

otherwise, many off-the-shelf mini-bars also have light fittings on their shelves. just go through some furniture stores – you may find what you need there.

    hope this helps
    all the very best

i work in a fabric store and we give our boards away if you catch us before recycle day .you can cut them to a smaller size if need be .so while you are at the fabric store why not ask for a stash ?i am sure they would oblige.
