wise for a teenager to sell things at arts and crafts shows?
As a teenager, the idea popped up into my head. would it be wise to do arts and crafts shows locally to bring in a couple of dollars. i have scrapbook things, and great creativity. but the problem is, would it be worth it? so any craftsmen out their want to give advice. im not looking to carve in woork or paint a masterpiece, just simple picture frames, cards, cork boards, ect. thanks!

I think that that’s a great idea if you are up to it. It is a simple and creative way to earn some extra dollars. Many people are in to the kinds of things you are thinking of putting up. I say, give it a go!
If you like to scrap book, you might have a better following, if you offer your scrapbooking services to your friends, relatives who are too busy to organize their photos. You could do simple layouts for various events, holidays, etc. and they can either plug in the pics themselves, or give you the boxes and bags of photos to sort for them. You could charge by the page, by the hour, or by the job. Plus, you’d be doing someone you care about a HUGE favor! I know I’d hire someone to do that for me!
Good luck!
Our local flea market has a lot of arts and crafts, as well as a lot of other things. It’s held for one weekend every month, and it attracts a very, very large crowd. Setting up a table without electricity inside the building is $25 a day here. If you sell $25, you’re not out anything. I don’t know how much a table at a place in your area would cost, but I would look to more general venues, things where people might just buy a package of stickers or pretty ribbons from you. Make sure you have things available for $1 that kids could want and parents wouldn’t mind spending. Those $1 add up quick. I think you have a great idea for selling.
Also, be careful on your original costs. Look for sale bins at craft stores and try to get to estate sales. Some people are getting rid of things that they don’t need, but you might be able to upcycle. Check yard sales, too. Keep your overhead low.
Good luck!
