When making soap is there glitter you can put in it made specifically for this purpose?
I am just putting in regular crafting glitter and it is all sinking to the bottom. Is there a way to avoid this?

No, there is not special glitter for soap!
You just need to keep mixing it so that it won’t sink. When it starts to set, it won’t sink anymore.
Absolutely YES there is specific glitter for soap making – crafting glitter is not approved for cosmetic use and can be very sharp.
I get my glitter at Bramble Berry (http://www.brambleberry.com/micas.html) or better yet – Coastal Scents (http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=96), but you can find soap approved glitter in craft stores BY THE SOAP.
To prevent it from sinking you may need to wait until your soap is cooler and thicker before pouring. It’s a pain if you are using pyrex measuring cups or the like because the stay warm for a while, so be prepared to wait. I usually wait for the soap to form a “skin” in the bowl and then stir the skin back in, then wait again and stir again – then pour. But it’ll take some experimentation. The good thing about the soap is you can re-melt it if you are gentle.
(same thing holds true for oatmeal if you ever try an oatmeal soap)
