What kind of rubber tubing to use for jewelry?
I recently purchased a necklace for my daughter at a craft show that was on a rubber tube cording. The connector was a piece of plastic that stuck in both ends of the cord to hook it together. I found pony bead lacing and plastic connectors at my local craft store – the only problem is that is only comes in 5 yard pieces and is bound together with a plastic band that causes a huge crimped spot in the cord. I would love to find a similar product to use for children necklaces. The guy at the craft show had his cord on a large roll. What was he using and where did he find it and the plastic connectors? Anyone have a clue? I have searched the internet to no avail – I’m stumped. Please help.

Try your local haberdashers-
the tubing is often used to cover the metal part of coat hangers when they are covered.
Also try gently heating the crimped spot in the tubing with a hair dryer- it should cause the plastic to become softer and you can then use your fingers to push the tube back to its proper shape.
I found this site through google search http://www.goldingcraft.com/coathangers.htm

This is the site where you get the coloured rubber cord on a spool. They also have it in black.
They also have all the other supplies you would need for the findings.
I’ve ordered from this company many times and they are very reliable. They also give a discount whenyou order in bulk.
