What kind of craft board would you use for this project?

For a bridal show booth, what kind of craft board would you use for a “wall” that folds like a presentation board? The demensions would be 1 piece 8ft x 4 ft, and 2 peices 8ft x 3 ft.

I’m thinking gator board because it will be durable enough and big enough for the dimensions, but it’s so expensive, and will have major shipping charges. Anything cheaper?

Well they have these Elmers poster folding presentation things but I don’t remember the exact name.

What do you need for this to do? Are you using it for a rigid backdrop? I’d go for plywood. Are you intending to pin into it? Homosote and a wood frame. Just a backdrop? Wooden or pvc pipe frame and fabric.

I agree with Kay, but would just add that various kinds of ps foam insulation board is cheap and comes as large as that. You’ll find several types of it at home improvement stores, etc., in various thicknesses too.

It’s fairly rigid, but could also be pinned or nailed into for not-too-heavy things, and could also be wrapped with fabric (over batting, or not) to make it look attractive (almost any way you want). It’s heavier than many other “boards” but lighter than solid plywood.
