What is the best way to clean out a turtle shell?

The turtle is fairly freshly dead. I want to use the shell in a craft project.

    OMG! What a drama queen! Turtles die, its a fact of life, where do ya think the already cleaned ones come from?? To answer your question… cut and scrape as much of the meat as you can from the shell, then boil the shell in water to get the rest out, you may have to scrape the remaining bits out. Use a good wax to shine it back up.

    Real simple sweetie BOIL the shell! Then let it dry,by air. Have shell on its back then let it air dry or it will stink nasty!..lol. I know it sounds simple. But that is what I do. I hope this helps..
