I always did well with jewelry that was aimed towrd the younger crowd. Usually, either the parents would buy them as gifts… or if the kids were there too they would beg their parents to buy it for them. Either way I made a sale :)

What types of crafts do you do?

Tough answer, I suggest that you visit various craft fairs and see what sells in the area you live in. It depends of the demographic area. This includes ages of people under 25, over 60? Take a good look in your community area and then it should be easier to decide. Good luck

I make hairbows and do pretty good. But there is a lady who is always at the same craft fairs (small town), she makes punky blankets and onesies and such and she always makes a killing. She just finds fabric with skulls and funky stuff like that and does really well. Young moms love her stuff and stay faithfull to her.

Jewelry is hot right now and since so many people are bringing it to craft fairs it’s a hard market to compete in, but it still makes good money.

Craft fair for an older crowd: home decor, candles, food.
Craft Fair for younger crowd: Punk, goth stuff, skulls, dragons, fairies.
Craft Fair sorority or high income: high end jewelry chunky big stones, vintage items, antiques, home decor.

That’s about how it goes in my area (Indiana and border towns of surrounding states)
