What fabric should i use to make a stuffed animal?

i have to make a mole for my school project, but i want to use a fabric besides felt. any ideas? and the fabric has to be available in regular craft stores cuz i don’t have time to order fabric online. thanks for any help =)

    i did the same exact project! haha i used like this fabric that was furry on one side so it actually looked like a brown furry animal mole. I think itll be in the craft store

    i am 90 percent sure all walmarts carry faux fur…very soft and fluffy stuff…but they may not have brown, just black and white. a place like michaels should carry brown though. or dye the white kind, though i’ve never dyed faux fur. good luck, hope this helps, and i wish you the cutest of stuffed animals!

    If you don’t want to use the fake fur (it can be hard to sew), then use a brown/grey colored polar fleece.

    Michaels, generally does not carry yard goods. Try your local JoAnn Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, or Hancock Fabrics. This time of year you will find lots of furry stuff-look in the costume fabric section as well as the felt aisle. You may find a no-wale corduroy (that means no lines in it) or suede-y type fabric that would also work. If not there is felt to use as well.
