What crafts projects would interest college students?

I am on the board for the entertainment club on my college campus and am looking for inexpensive craft ideas for our new biweekly “campus craft nights.” We need ideas that will get students to come out and participate. Any ideas?

Thanks.!!

Have a student from a different nation participate/lead the class, some one from China, Iran, Norway, anywhere really and have them teach an art project common in their region, I went to school with a girl from China and she taught us Origami, it was honestly a very fun cheap thing.

How about something for a good cause? At my uni we do craft projects, bake sales, fundraisers, etc. for hospitals, adopt a soldier, specific illnesses (cancer, aids, diabetes) and more. I think doing things like this will get more students to participate than just decoupaging a jewelry box. One that is of particular interest to me is Erin’s Dream Lanyards. Groups gather to make pretty beaded lanyards (like ones used to put ID’s on in Hospitals and Schools) and send them to the Buenger family to sell. ALL proceeds go to Children’s Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation. It is named after Erin Buenger who lost her battle with Neuroblastoma at age 11. Here is the link to the website where you can read more about Erin’s story and how you help: http://chooseaverb.blogspot.com/p/thank-you-for-clicking-through-to-get.html

I hope you consider this option and discuss it with others in the entertainment club! Best of luck!
