What craft stores sell metal stamping supplies to make jewelry? I am looking for the metal stamps…?
other needed tools, sheet metal etc. All I can find is things online and there is a huge price range. Any info on this would be great. Thanks.

Most crafts supplies stores tend to carry the more generic crafts items, so I think you’ll have to go to a specialty place for this. The Santa Fe Jewelers Supply sells jewelry-making sheet metal in all different metals. I’d say you should start with the nickel or brass, and then move up to sterling or gold-fill after you’re more experienced. They may also have tools and dies for this. Their prices are excellent on the letals supplies I buy there, so I’m guessing their prices will be just as good for these metal things.
Fire Mtn may have something. They’re usually not my first choice for metals, though. Their prices are higher than I like. Try SFJS first, then give Fire Mtn a look.
The Michaels store where I work has a few metal stamps but they are on clearance. I work at a NextGeneration Michaels which carries some different items from the older Michaels. If there is a Michaels near you, call and ask if they have dapping supplies in the beading department. We also had some small sheets of metal, hammer, anvil, jump ring mandrels, etc.
Also try Harbor Freight — they are online and also have brick and mortar stores and have very good prices
I bought an anvil there for about $3..

Harbor Freight does have excellent prices on quite a few tools, but I would also recommend an actual jewelry supplier. I like Contenti ( http://www.contenti.com/catalog.html ) for most stuff, although if you need silver and gold you’ll have to go with Rio Grande or Hoover and Strong (note that they only supply to the industry, so you’ll have to at least be a jewelry student). Some local bead shops carry wire and sheet, but it’s often much more expensive, and in smaller quantities. Fire Mountain Gems ( http://www.firemountaingems.com/metalsmithing.asp?navsrc=2 ) also carries a limited supply of silver, including sheet. If all you plan in doing is stamping and cutting, you should be fine on your own, but if you plan to do anything more advanced, (i.e. involving fire) I strongly recommend taking a class to ensure your safety and prevent the waste of materials.
Look on http://www.beaducation.com They have all kinds of stamps and hammers and blanks. They also have lessons.
