    You could find wooden cutouts (of pine trees, etc) & have the kids paint them up. A hole could be drilled through it to use as an ornament. I buy bags of wooden cut outs at craft shows for super cheap. Places like Michael’s sell them as well.

    Or maybe buy small canvases & have them paint them up. Use diecuts or stencils to spell words of children’s names.
