What are some things that trains carry? I have a craft project going and need some ideas…?

I am in the midst of making a little boy’s name into train cars that carry freight. The name is DANIEL. I need items that begin with those letters to glue onto the letters. I’ve thought of these, for example…
A – animals
N – nuts/bolts
L – limestone

I can’t think of anything for the other 3 letters…

Well it just depends on what kind of train it is. If your going for the Christmas train theme it could have presents and toys or even maybe some elves. but for just a normal train you could use coal or recycling items such as tin cans and plastic bottles. Or you could even do a train people ride on, if you do that you could put little seats and tables on the inside. Hope this helps.

coal, logs, oil, gas, etc… if it can be transported it can be on a trail.

D = dog, doctor, dock, donkey, dial
E = elephants, emeralds, earth, eagle, ear, earthworm, Easter egg
I = iris (either the ‘eye’ kind or the flower), initials (his?), insect, ice, icicle, ivy, ibis, ibex, iguana, igloo

    Other possibilities:
A = ankle, angel, ark, apple, ant
L = lollipop, lightning bolt, leash (for a dog)
N = nickels, nails, napkin, number, needle and thread

    Cute idea! Good luck!

chirp has quite a few good suggestions

if you want to go with categories [it is usually a good idea especially for young kids], here are a few examples :
    category – living creatures
donkey, ants, nightingales, ibis, elephants, lemur
    Category flowers :
    daisies, asters, narcissus, iris, ….
    category stationery :
    duster/desk, artwork, …..

    you get the idea ….
all the very best & have fun :-) ))
