What are some good DIY holiday crafts?
So my husband is deploying soon and will be gone for the holidays. I will be trying to keep busy with work and school but I know I’ll have some down time and I’d like to do some fun crafting. It’s the first holiday season in our first house and we don’t have many decorations to start — actually really none except for a 6″ fake lighted tree with maybe 10 ornaments from my single days haha. What are some good crafts that I can do to decorate? I hate the idea of spending tons of money on decorations, I’d rather make my own. None are overly complicated — any websites you have used before or books you’ve picked through would be helpful. Thanks!
I’m looking for holiday related crafts — christmas/thanksgiving etc

You can pick up a bag of seashells and googly eyes at a craft store and make little creatures out of them. (Using two shells for mouths and longer shells for legs, etc) It sounds childish but I did this a few years ago and make some cute soap dishes for my family. They loved them!
There are loads of ways to make holiday decorations and ornaments, etc, cheaply (and sometimes even more fun when you have to figure out what to use!).

And if you’re interested in making ornaments in particular, check out these pages of my site (my site is primarily about polymer clay but many of the things, especially the “sculptural” type things, can be done with air-dry clays as well –though you’ll have to seal those– and you can can make those at home for almost free**:

Try making them with counted cross stitch on perforated paper or plastic canvas are good ways of making decorations.
