What are some cool crafts I can make out of buttons?

I collect buttons and I have a bunch of funky buttons in all different colors. I’ve made necklaces and decorations for bobby pins, included them in my altered book. What else can I do with them?

You could sew them on to your favourite pair of jeans. As a decal near the pockets in front or on the belt loops. This is what my sister does and people have asked if they could buy a pair from her. My sister also sews her buttons on canvas bags in different patterns and such.
There is a lot you could do…

Have you tried making flowers using your buttons? I saw the project on t.v. and they looked really cool. You can also make some door beads (those things they put in the door in place of a sheet or something – you’ve probably seen them in those movies from the 70s and from the first Matrix movie where Neo goes to see the oracle). You can also make button rings and wristlets.

If you have a bulletin board, or you can get one, you can hot glue the buttons to the flat push pins. And you can aslo put them around the edges of the board. This is a fun way to add flare to your board !

Also, its fun to find a crazy looking pillow and sew on the buttons in a fun pattern. you can even add them to the edges of your favorite blanket.

Or try going to a thrift store and finding a cute and inexpensive purse you could add the buttons to.

    Have fun being creative!

Here’s a couple ideas for ya. The first one is a bracelet and the second is a button flower that you can put a pin back on and use it for embellishing a purse, sweater, etc. Both projects are very cute. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

How about making a pillow or decorating a frame? You could even use them to make your own greeting cards.
