Trying to make a cartoon character into a doll?
I don’t know really where to start, all I know is that I need a doll of this little guy and they just don’t make him. Here is a pic of him if that helps.

First, you need a needle and thread or a sewing machine as well as scissors, fabric marker and fabric. I would add buttons for the eyes and yarn for the hair. Since the character is made out of mostly geometric shapes, i would begin by copying him onto some paper but in the size you want your doll to be. from there I would separate the head, torso, arms and legs (the eyes also if you want to make those from fabric) onto smaller individual sheets of paper. Trace the outlines of all the parts onto fabric using a fabric pen and write on the wrong side of the fabric (the side which you do not want to show and which will be on the inside of the doll). Make two copies of the parts on fabric. Cut out the parts leaving about an inch or so of fabric between the outline and where you cut. Sew them together with the wrong sides facing outwards, leaving a little hole so you can flip them inside out. Flip the part inside out, stuff with stuffing or fabric scraps. When you have completed all the parts, sew them together. When you are sewing the torso, cut out pieces of fabric of black fabric for the stripes and add them on before sewing the two pieces together. Good luck! http://sewing.about.com/od/sewingdolls/tp/dollandtoymaking.htm This website has some good information about making dolls.
Just an addition to the above……
Something easy to hand sew is felt, and it is fairly inexpensive and easy to find.
