Suggestions for a creative way to “bind” a book for a school project?

So i have to make a simple “ABC Book” for a project for my biology class

It’s 15 pages, including the cover & back
So its really not that thick

I cut the 8.5×11 paper in half so its only 5.5×8.5

I need to make it like a real book but i want to be more creative than just stapling it 3 times along the edge because once you start opening the pages the edge looks really ugly

Any suggestions?
Maybe binding it like a composition book?
I dont want it to be to complex or to have to spend any money… just using simple household craft materials

Thanks! :)

You could sew it with yarn or ribbon. You may want to punch holes in the paper first with a hole punch or even a nail, about 1/4″ apart, then use a running stitch, whip stitch or blanket stitch.

To bind it like a composition book, the pages would need to be folded in the middle, then sewn down the fold.

You could punch 3 – 5 holes in the side as if to put it in a binder, but tie bows in the holes, or put keyrings through the holes.

You could try metal rings. Just punch your holes (as few as 2 as many as 5) and use either old key rings that are the same size (just the metal O part) or buy some. They are very cheap, I’m talking 6 for $2.00 and they will look really nice. You can get them at wal-mart or craft stores. If you go with some old key rings then you can cover them ribbon or paint them. Good luck on your project….Hope you get an A!
