question about magnets?
I want to put a magnet on my car, but not pay an arm and a leg for it. I saw these magnets http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Products/Crafts-&-Scrapbooking/Magnet-Sheets/Magnet-Sheets_03270.htm that I can make my self, but have read that sometimes they aren’t very strong, If they turn out to not be very strong when I use them, how can I make them stick to my car with out damaging the paint?

They may not adhere to the outside of a vehicle ( but then again, they just might !! ). There are companies that make magnetic signs for vehicles; look online……………PS – contact the people @ Avery and see what their info is re: adhering to vehicles
If you have weak magnets attached to a piece of vertical sheet metal, you can be sure that the magnet will fall off at the next pot hole in the road. Why do you want magnets on your car? Are you sure that your strong magnets will not disturb electrical equipment?; like alternators, starter motors, and even coils. Paint damage should not be much of a concern if there are no sharp edges on the magnets. Magnets should work through glass thicknesses without scratching anything. There is a little magnetic key box that you can hide your keys in and attach the box to an inside fender so that it won’t be stolen. It is called “hide a key”. I don’t know of anybody who has or uses the “hide a key” device.
