Question about doll making?
I’m sure this is probably a far out question that most will not be able to answer, but is there a way to make your own plastic vinyl fashion doll? You know like with the material they make Barbies and Bratz from? Is there a liquid mold available anywhere for that?
Thanks for your answer. I have already repainted many barbies and bratz in the past, I just want to try my hand at making my own mold, with my own face/eyes/nose and see how it comes out so that it is a truly custom made doll.

No, but you can make one.
There are casting sets you can get at craft stores and make your own molds. I don’t know where you’d get that plastic.
If you want to change Barbie’s features, you can remove the painted on eyes, etc. with nail polish remover.
Just out of curiosity, why?
It seems to me you could just use a Barbie or Bratz doll…?
Well, it won’t be exactly the same kind of plastic, but polymer clay is plastic and has been used for lots of dolls and other figures.
It’s often used for just the head, arms and legs of dolls, but can also be used for whole figures (and can even be made ball-jointed though that’s kinda hard to do).
Btw, you can use polymer clay for both the items themselves, and also for making molds to use for the items.
Here are some pages at my site that deal with those things, if you’re interested:

You can also use various types of latex, etc. for making molds.
Those are more fiddly and often require layers to be built up, etc., but there are different types, with different characteristics.
You can read about those (and get some links to YouTube and other places that show those in use) on this page of my site:

Hi , Yes there is. There is actually two different ways you can do it. Both ways you will have to first sculpt the fashion doll that you want out of clay. Once the clay is cured you can make a mold from that. What a lot of reborn artist do is send the clay sculpt to china to have the mold poured and the vinyl poured. However there are some that pour their own silicone. That is the second way. Instead of the fashion doll being made out of vinyl it is made from silicone. Silicone will cost more but it is the hotest thing in the doll world right now. Solid Silicone babies go for thousands of dollars. Also OOAK (one of a kind) clay babies sell for a lot too.
