Opinion time! I’m making puppets to sell at a local craft show. Which stories should I make?
There’s several I’ve already made, but now I can’t decide which ones to add. I need 2 or 3 more sets.
Tarzan
Jungle Book
Sword in the Stone
Emperors new clothes/King Midas (the stories are so similar, if I made them it would be a two story set)
Aladdin
Jack and the Bean stock
The Wizard of Oz
Old MacDonald
(I obviously won’t be copying Disney for copyright reasons)

Jack and the Bean Stalk and The Wizard of Oz, both classics and fun to act out, especially with puppets! :]
How about the Princess & The Pea (I don’t think Disney has done anything with this yet).
Or… this is my favorite kid’s book: Eleanor Fajeon’s The Little Bookroom (a collection of short stories).

Anything that has animals or fantasy will sell. Tarzan is easily recognisable to most people, less so Jungle Book and Sword in the Stone. Emporers New Clothes/King Midas sound ok, especially if they have princely outfits which will attract the attention of young kids. Same thing for Aladdin. Wizard of Oz is a must, as well as Old Macdonald cause you have plenty of recognisable characters there.
From experience, I know the more generic the characters, the more likely they will sell. (Unless you have an extremely unique and popular style) I have lots of great sea/underwater animals (turtle, starfish, goldfish, seahorse, etc) available to buy, but 9/10 times people buy the mermaid character. So fantasy and animal characters are the best way to go. In my opinion of course
