I saw this the other night on an HGTV Xmas special & I am going to Michael’s later on today to shop.

They took white pipe cleaners. I am going to spray mine with glue and sprinkle them with glitter. They grabbed a bunch together all the same length & tied them off in the middle with another small piece of pipe cleaner and then started separating them to form a round shape. Then they tied a pretty illuminating ribbon (but you could use another material) on it and hung it from a rod suspended from the ceiling in all different lengths. I was just going to hang them in my window which has enough space (indentation) to hang there. Just going to screw some of those teeny little hooks into the top of the window frame so they can hang there. They were very pretty and looked very ornamental, almost like a snowflake. You could use all different colors, I suppose. Very cheap! You should go on their website, I bet they have all sorts of cheap crafty ideas for Xmas. I know I am going to look at it before I go off to Michael’s

For each person, line a small basket with a colorful cloth napkin, add the mug and some packets of instant hot chocolate (or a container of your homemade mix), plus maybe some small marshmallows and a couple of cinnamon sticks. Maybe even a little bag of homemade cookies. I would love to receive something like this.

Etch them! A small bottle of Armor-Etch from the craft store will cost about $8-10 and will be more than enough for you to etch monograms or other designs on each mug to personalize them for the recipients and they will think you spent a fortune to have it done. The process is extremely simple and kind of fun. In the same section you find the etching creme, you can buy stencils but if you are doing quite a few mugs, try to get the reusable stencils as the others are one-time-use only and are very fragile. You can make your own stencils with Contac paper and a craft knife if you are somewhat artistic and have a steady hand. Once your mugs are personalized, fill them with wrapped Christmas candies such as Hershey Kisses or those mini candy bars, then wrap up with clear Christmas theme plastic wrap and some pretty organdy ribbon from the floral craft department.
