Is it worth it to start a shop on Etsy, or should I try another craft selling site first?

I was thinking about starting to sell my crafts on Etsy, but as I did some research I found a lot of posts about dissatisfied seller on the site. Is it still worth trying to start a shop on Etsy, or is it all to political now? any comments would be wonderful! Thanks

It is definitely worth it. Every site has its detractors, whiners and complainers. Remember, satisfied people tend NOT to complain!

I sell on etsy and have fun. I enjoy the site. I don’t make oodles of money, but I don’t spend oodles of time promoting my product either, which is what you have to do. On ANY site. But I love what I make, I have fun earning money, and I’ve never had a bad transaction on etsy.

Etsy is a very good site that gets lots of visitors. If you want to be successful you have to promote your site as well as provide a product that people want to buy.

I have found another site called ecrater.com that is free. It has some good suggestions on who to promote your site. You can check out my store to see how I set mine up.
