Is it OK to make a doll company that’s called Lolita?
I know that it’s related to the novel and movies of the same name, but it sounds cute to me. I want to hear your opinion on it, and suggestions would be nice too.
Thanks guys! All of your answers were very helpful.

Well the thing is, the name was presumably around long before Vladimir Nabokov used it for the title character of his book. So I don’t see why people should be afraid to use the name. So I say go for it!
Should be no problem as long as it is isn’t copyrighted. That’d be the only concern I would see.
The term is used as a description of a fashion in Japan and goth style so it has expanded past just referring only to the book.
Sure, it’s a cute name, but here’s the thing: your company would wind up associated with the book (and all the connotations of underage sex attached to it) and/or with the Japanese street fashion of the same name. If you don’t mind your company and your products having those associations, then it’s a great name. But if you would rather avoid those associations, you really should pick another name.
