Visit several craft fairs ( there are lots this time of year ) and look to see which crafts attract the most buyers. Jewelry sells well if is stylish and not too expensive. I have always been successful with polymer clay holiday pins such as Santas and angels around Christmas and bunnies and egg baskets at Easter. The pins cost me very little to make and I sold them for $3.00 each….usually selling 300 in a weekend. If you have a unique product and it is well made and not too expensive you should do well.
If you’re going to go into beading, get some instruction first, either in a class or by book or online. There are lots of folks making jewelry — some of them very good at it — so buyers have a lot to choose from. If there’s no particular reason they should choose your product, you may not sell much. Most crafts stores sell ready-to-finish wood objects. I don’t think too many folks are doing that right now (the various finishes on wood) so it may sell better. Don’t go in for fad crafts, since that’s what “everyone” will be selling. Find your own niche product and do it well.
‘m a recreation director and teach crafts. I would need to know your age first. Chocolate candy making is soooo easy but you need about 1 1/2 to devote, about $10. worth of supplies to start.

My former supervisor made beaded badge holders at work. He did this to raise money for our Cancer Center.
He used fishing string and the little clips you can buy at Walmart and multi colored beads and shapes. He sold them for 10.00 a piece. It was very time consuming but he loved to do it. He raised over thousands of dollars.
