There are two ways you can go about this depending upon your preference and skills.

One way: If you have digital pictures, you can buy scrap-booking software to design your pages on the computer. You can upload pictures right to your layout, print the page on photo paper, and put it into a protective clear vinyl cover with three holes on the side. Then, just get a binder to keep the pages in or paste the photo paper into a scrapbook. The computer software is great because it provides you with all different types of layouts and you can save your work.

If you like cutting papers and designing in a tangible way, here is the second way: Go to any store with a large selection of scrap-booking supplies – like Micheal’s or a neighborhood store. Find a book or someone to guide you on what supplies you need because there are many to choose from. Basically you need a scrapbook, paper cutters, adhesive, and papers to frame pictures or to serve as a background.

Scrap-booking is fun and a great way to preserve memories – good luck.

if you have pictures put one on the cover and one on the back page

out airline tickets or hotel tickets on first page and then I would do it like a diary and each day you could write what you did that day and if you have pictures for the activities of each day put them in -along with any tickets from places you went each day

on last page u can out a picture of your home with a :home sweet home sign”

I have, actually, just gone through the same dilemma. I went to two sites that seem to have the best in rubberstamps, scrapbooking do-dads, and tools. http://www.addictedtoscrapbooking.com and http://www.addictedtorubberstamps.com
I live by these two sites. They offer some tutorings as well and selling monthly kits and also some small scrapbooking and rubberstamping kits.
I always love a large 12×12 scrapbook so that you can get a bunch of stuff onto one page. Although, a good hint, a smaller scrapbook is a whole lot easier to fill and embellish. Might I also offer another tip, Buy an embossing gun. It’s this cool little thing that you plug in and when it is turned on, sounds like a hairdryer. it’s a whole lot hotter though!! when you hold it over embossing “glitter” it heats it up and melts it forming a hard plastic very glittery shiny surface. Really cool stuff. Also, if you are interested in learning more, Hobby Lobby and Michaels offer wonderful classes on the weekends!!! Good luck and just have fun with it. I’m sure that whatever you choose to do with it will turn out GREAT!!!

If you’re new to scrapbooking, keep it easy. Buy a travel-themed album and put all your photos in, like a photo album. Then find spots to add brochures, tickets, foreign money, etc. Then, and only if you feel the need, you can go buy travel or destination-themed scrapbook stickers and other embellishments. You’ll get it done much faster this way than by planning each page (photos and embellishments) one page at a time.

The traditional route would be to work out a theme/order – chronological for a trip is nice, and build each page with photos, souvenirs and embellishments. It looks good but takes much longer, so if speed is your goal, take the first route.

I’m an avid scrapper and do both, depending on how quick i want to get it together.

The good thing about scrapbooking is there is no specific way that you HAVE to do anything!! You are the author of your own “book”. When I got started I was VERY intimidated, mostly because I really thought that the cost would be really really high and that I would probably never get much stuff for it with 3 kids and not a substantial income but after asking my friends for advice I decided this was definitely something I really wanted to do and they told me that it doesn’t have to be expensive! In almost EVERY Dollar (or 99 cent store) Store that I have ever been in has some sort of scrapbooking supplies. Dollar Tree even carries several different books which are handmade and are VERY beautiful….You could probably get some great supplies by only shopping at a dollar store. Good Luck! I have ammassed a HUGE collection of supplies and I enjoy doing it….when I get the chance!!
