I have an idea. first you draw a picture then you cut up paper in to little pieces and glue them on the picture where you want them to go.
NOTE: it looks better if you use colored paper

This one can be slightly time consuming but that can be good if it is a long day or done over several days. You make wreaths for your door. Doesnt have to be chrismas depending on what colors you use. Get some of those colored trashbags(usually the small ones) and cut them into strips about 3 to 4 inches long and an inch or so wide. Get a wire coat hanger and straighten it out. Just simply tie the strips on to the hanger by tieing them,(kind of like in the 1rst step of tieing your show) Squeeze the strips together on the hanger tightly until the hanger is full and then bend the hanger into a circle and using wire or electrical tape bind the ends and then tie a few more bag strips on to cover the tape. If you can find liitle items that go with what ever theme you went with(like for example maybe little indian or turkey stuff for a wreath made for Thanksgiving) you can glue them onto the wreath. This project can even be done by 5 year olds its so easy and my kids feel so proud when I hang them up for the occasions we have made them for.
