You could get a wodden broom and paint flowers on it. Or you could have jewlery.

When I was younger (under 10) I made and sold macrame keychains. Owls are pretty easy to make, it is very inexpensive, and if you charge a buck or 2, they should go. THere are things other than owls, but I know that is what I made.

The best thing to do is figure out what your good at first. If your good a pottery then you could make small clay figures or flower pots. If your good at drawing or painting you could sell sketches or paintings. If your good at woodworking or popsicle stick building (i once made a popsicle stick capitol building took forever) you could create bird houses or even other things like doll houses or what ever your mind takes you.

If your good at following directions you can find tons of crafting websites that will give you precise directions to making tons of things. Finding the right one for you would be all depending on your resources, time and skill.

All in all have fun with crafting, even if you don’t make a huge profit off it.

That’s a cool idea to make things and sell them – should get you a little bit of money and eventually you could do really well out of it.

It’s kind of hard for us to say what you should make though – really the best thing is to see what’s out there and think what you would like to buy if you were looking for, say, a present for a friend.

It needs to be something you will enjoy making, first of all. What hobbies do you have? What do you like to do, and what are you good at?

You could try looking on the web for ideas, or buy a magazine, or go to your local library and get some craft books, and see what you like the look of. If you have a good look around, you will get ideas and then you can adapt them to your own skills and materials.

Also, where are you going to sell them? For example, if you are selling them online, then don’t make anything too big or awkward to post. If you are selling them at craft fairs, you need something that will stand out. Try to think through, if you were going to that place to buy things, what kind of things would you buy? If you live near a holiday resort, for instance, you could sell local craft to tourists.

I think house stuff is good – like photo frames, ornaments, that kind of thing – people will buy them as presents for other people, and they like the things to be unique. Jewellery is also good – it’s not that hard to start off with, and if you get good at it you could earn serious money. Plus, you won’t have tons of things sitting all over your room waiting to be sold!

You could also think about taking commissions – so, when someone wants something specific made, you could do it for them.

Beware of making things for children (especially toys), as they might have to pass all sorts of safety checks, which can be a lot of hassle.

I’ve included a link below on how to sew, but you could maybe sign up to a class at a local college or something.

I’m currently setting up a website where you’ll be able to share ideas & skills, and sell things you’ve made – send me an email if you want more details about it!

Hope everything works out well with the crafts!

EDIT to add: keyrings are a good way to go too… you can make them quite easily, and because they are cheap, you should sell lots of them. I used to make keyrings for friends, and they loved them. You can do clay ones (FIMO or something), knitted, embroidered, paper mache etc… lots of options!

hey i have a really really good way! i do this myself and i am 15. i am a woodturner and basically it’s a machine that spins a piece of wood (you don’t have to buy the wood, if there is any log laying around or there is a bunch of trees near you it will work) and you carve it. it’s pretty simple and you can create beautiful works of art that if you do it right, will net you about 60-100 bucks for maybe 2-5 hours of your time. i sell my bowls at my dads work for 10-15 bucks and it only takes me about 45 min-hour and a half depending on the size and type of wood. not bad! creating these bowls can be fun too! and you’ll feel pretty satisfied once you’re done that it’s something you can use. the only major investment is the lathe (machine that spins the wood) and the tools you use. i’ve been doing this for only about a year and a half and you learn quickly. i have to admit though in the beginning that it is a bit difficult but once you got the hang of it its easy! people are always looking for unique things to buy and this is a great way to earn some money! you can even make stuff that’s useful for yourself too! I’ve made whole sets of bowls for cereal, plates, cups, and you can eat and drink out of them too! not to mention it basically free. i have created hundreds of bowls and never spent a dime on wood. you can find the wood anywhere. if there is a city dump they’ll let you come and just haul away some wood cause they can’t use it. overall this is a great craft idea and you should really consider it!

i know a project you could make but it doesn’t involve wood.
go to any office supply store and buy a box of pens. then take fake flowers and attach them to the pen using floral tape. then the pen looks like a flower. it turns out really cute.
