Try visiting all neighbours on your street, 1 at a time. Have a little chat, ask them over for tea / coffee / beer in the evening, preferably 2 / 3 at a time. Keep in touch with them. In no time you will find, who are to your liking. Then organise weekend evenings out with the like-minded ones. Being out with a small group is more fun than being out with a single bf

You can visit http://www.threadbanger.com/ they have really good ideas to recycle and other ideas for crafts. They also have videos if you prefer watching how they make things. The videos will tell you whether or not they are for beginners.

Or visit: http://www.craftster.org/ On this website you can find patterns, a calendar where you can see if there are any craft fairs in your area; among other things to do on this website.

Something repetitive and that you don’t have to think a lot about might be good … crocheting or knitting or weaving come to mind. They all have repetitive movements, which can be almost meditative and should bring you calm and peace. :-)
