Color wheels are based on different paints there is one for cmyk ( cyan, magenta, yellow and black) which are the printing inks for most printing presses including plus the Pantone system that’s for printing as well gives you a 5th and 6th color on press.

For mixing of other types of paints I used a color match book, that is on a Sliding rivet so it works like a wheel, that is better than a wheel, its called Color Mixing Recipe Cards for oils and acrylics by William Powell. The difference means that it tells you when to use Rubin Red or Cadmium Red with Burnt Umber and what percentage. Its a wonderful help, try ordering on line from pearls

This should give you a great start. Most people think red and to their mind comes one red I ask myself if its a blue based red, or orange based red, the choices go on for ever!

    I love my book

You haven’t looked very hard. Any search engine will bring up hundreds of sites. Any book on painting or dyes or colouring at all will have one. It’s everywhere! Just look.
