i live in madison, wisconsin and make candles for a hobby and have gotten pretty good at it. i want to sell ?
some at holiday craft fairs. where is a good resource to find craft fairs that aren’t juried…….i’ve done some research and i don’t think a juried show is for me and they seem to be very expensive for a spot……i just want to get my feet wet, not a soaking……;)

Check with all the Chambers of Commerce in your area, as far as you want to drive there and back in a day. They have really good listings of the Fairs in their areas. Also check when the churches have their Christmas Fairs.
I have been in locations where if you got a booth in a non juried show the juried shows would forever after ban you from theirs. So in those locations I just do the museums Arts and Crafts festivals. And yeah! the juried shows tend to be a bit pricey.
Be sure to have your own display shelving and tables and a chair. Sometimes a little special lighting helps bunches. Have brochure and cards for those not buying at the moment. Some of these people will want to get back to you later.
I have yet to sell more than one shawl at any show. Usually the ones who want them will call me later on and then I charge shipping and handling as well.
Try etsy.com to sell online.
Juried shows tend to be for “Art” as opposed to crafts. If you are making the candles for use, they are probably not the right place.
Be aware that selling at shows can be exhausting. You will need at least one other person to help you with your table and lots of stock.
Check out the local craft stores for ideas too.
