Unfortunately, if you want someone to make a site for you you will have to pay.

Lunarpages has some nice website packages you can install and use pretty easily. If you set it up go to the control panel and then click on “fantastico”. There you will see your options for blogs and other goodies you can install on your web server.

You might want to consider setting up a shop at etsy.com instead of making your own website. When I buy handmade, I usually start there, not with a general web search.

I agree with Karen about using Etsy. I sell on the site and it’s very easy to set up. Listing fees are very reasonable and you can set up the site with multiple shop categories and your own banners.

If you want an independent site where you won’t be paying transaction fees, and want a minimal cost investment for setting it up, I suggest you review all the retail sites you like and make notations about what format features you like best, then incorporate those into your own independent site, using a service like Yahoo’s sitebuilder. The catch with doing that is that for ooak items, the site won’t delete the listing once you’ve sold it (unless you upgrade to some of the business functions.)

Etsy will remove your items once they’ve been sold out and gives you a feedback forum (like Amazon and Ebay) where you can earn public cred, as well as a great variety of craft
