How to make doll from clay.?

I want to make a doll something like this

http://pullipstyle.com/resource/viewtopic.php?t=20229

with clay. any help? tips?

I am new to this and I just bought a bucket of clays. If making that doll is imposible with clay, how can I make something like it?? The reason why I am making it is because it costs over 1000$ on ebay and the cheapest one I can find was 500$!! Too ridiculous for a doll.
Don`t try to be funny or act all smarty pants on me for instance “Just sculpt it”. I would not take any of that and I take my answers sieriously. If you are one of those immatures who are going to act like that, then please don`t bother answering my question and please go waste your time somewhere else. Thank You.

OK, I won’t be a smarty pants, though I have been called a Dumb A_s way to many times in life. lol!
I have done Paper Mache in the past, and I have done work in clay type materials. So I saw your question, and the two came together, and after seeing the picture, I can see why so many $$$ are called for, but I have this suggestion as follows:
I would buy a package of balloons, [the small round type] and blow up one of them to the approximate size of the dolls head, and place a layer of clay over the balloon and work off that layer to sculpt the dolls facial features by adding clay to the necessary areas for cheeks, nose, chin, etc.
Then once the head is completed, carefully stick a pin in the balloon to to release the air in it, then into the kiln/oven to bake dry.
Or you could “Just Sculpt It”, Oops, I forgot.. lol!
I hope this helped and good luck.
You never know, you may get great at it and your dolls will be selling for $1000.
    Peace.

First, there are all kinds of “clays” and you don’t say which one(s) you have.
Some types of clay could be suitable for sculpting or molding that type of head (and/or body if you don’t use other materials for the torso, etc.), but many won’t, or at least will look quite different.

Creating something like that though will require that you really know your material (and probably have failures before success like that), but could be fun.

Check out this previous answer I gave to someone wanting to make a Pullip type doll for much more info and links:

    Good luck,
