How to find a hobby or craft? Please help!!!?
I am 19 and need a hobby, but I don’t know what. I get bored easily and need something to keep my mind occupied. I have always wanted to create or make something I can take pride in. What hobby should i pick up (besides knitting and pottery)? Better yet, what are some hobbies I can pick up that is fun? I don’t have an talents that I know of. I CAN’T draw or paint, but I like the idea or being able to play with colors.

First, you don’t have to be able to “draw” or “paint” to be good at many kinds of art, or to work with colors. It’s an old and elitist idea that drawing/painting/sculpting are the only real “arts,” and that only people who have an innate ability to draw (with lots of practice added to refine that) are or can be “artists” or are allowd to pursue any art/craft that they may never be fantastically-good-at but enjoy a great deal.
I discovered this in my own family since I also can’t draw/etc (though I’ve found out I can *learn* to do passable drawing…I’m just not passionate about spending my time at it), and other family members could. I’ve had lots of success at various artsy things though without having to draw/paint, especially after I got out of that old mindset. Some examples of pursuits like that would be photography, quilting, pottery and other clay work, book making, graphic design, other kinds of design like clothing/jewelry/etc, lay up, etc, etc, etc.
All of those call for a “good eye” for shape, color, etc., but don’t necessarily require one to “draw pictures,” and that natural ability and/or interest can be built up a lot with learning and practice.

One Stroke is a style of painting that is quick and easy to learn. It’s best if you have no training in any other areas of painting. Usually, you can find a teacher at Joannes, AC Moore or a local communuty education department. Good luck it’s lots of fun!
Hi there,
If you like to play with colors and light, consider learning the lost art of lamp shade making.
It is really fun, easier than most people think, and you will be proud of your creations.
Plus you can sell the lamp shades for $100′s of dollars. I have been making lampshades for over 25ys, and I teach the art of lampshade making on DVD so you can learn at your own pace.
And I am available for your questions via email or phone.
