How do you make a stuffed doll?

My friend’s birthday is in November and I’m getting her a monster sized stuffed pig from the Sanrio store. But then I got an idea to pair it with a homemade doll of something from a joke we made a while back. Anyway, the doll I want to make is a stuffed Hawk with bacon wings. (If you watch DesandNate on youtube, you’d know what I’m talking about xD)

If anyone could help by giving advice on how to make a stuffed doll into the shape of said Bacon Hawk, that would be extremely appreciated! :]

I can’t myself, but you could probably get plenty of suggestions and help from the right boards at Craftster.org, especially the boards called “Toys, Dolls, and Playthings”:

(Check out all the lessons, examples, etc., in the *Completed Projects* sub-board for that category, but to actually ask questions you’ll need to do that in the *Discussions & Questions* sub-board –and you’ll need to join Craftster first but it’s free.)

well, I am not a fan, but a basic hawk shape wouldn’t be too hard. it depends on how advanced you want to make this. if you want simple, then I would make it like a flat softee. make a pattern using a simple drawing like the ones on colormegood.com
just make a simple silhouette type pattern. put the image on two pieces of brown fabric with the right sides together and sew around the out line. Avoid being too detailed. leave an opening of at least an inch. Pull all the paper off. Use a tight stitch so your thread doesn’t pull out when you take off the paper. cut around the the design leaving at least quarter of an inch seam allowance. Make clips around the curves and cut corners off near the stitching. turn right side out. Stuff with some polly fill until you get it full as you like. hand stitch closed. Paint on a beak, some eyes or other details. Make the wings the same sort of way. use a some fabric that looks the part or paint it pink with some white stripes that look like bacon. cut it into a strip that seems to fit the size of the bird and sew it as you did before with two pieces of fabric and turn it right side out after trimming the corners off. hand stich this to the back of your bird.
