How do you dye tiny styrofoam balls so they will look like colored beads?

I am planning to do crafts using colored tiny styro balls…but i have a problem on how to dye several of them in different colors. I imagined, if i’ll be using paint, they might stick together and so it will be difficult for me to do it that way. So, how do we dye the styro balls?
I’m going to use the styro balls individually by pinning them one by one to create a pattern, like a mosaic… so i think the Floam won’t work for it…thanks anyway for the answers! i appreciate them very much!=)

This craft project is actually my plan for the outreach activity we are going to have in our art club. We were tasked to teach the ‘Good Shepherd’, a religious organization, with some crafts they can make as a source of livelihood for them…

Any other suggestions guyz?
Thanks a lot!

A cocktail stick on two sides, paint with acrylic, and rest over a glass jar until dry. Later: I didn’t realise how small you were going to use. Have you already bought them? If not, please consider either painting them after you have made the mosaic (although I know this is not the same as making a mosaic). Or: buy cheap plastic beads instead.

You should use Easter egg dyes
If you don’t have any, look in old craft mags and find a recipe for egg dyes
You can also put the little balls in a tin can with water and food coloring and put the can in a pot with water and boil the water
