how do people get items inside of a blown up balloon?

I saw a picture of a teddy bear inside of a balloon. I thought it would be a neat craft for valentine’s for my kids. Does anyone know how to do this??:)

There are special stands you can buy (which may also use balloons with larger than usual necks) which hold the balloon open so large things can be put in them.
Don’t know much else, but I’ve seen these sold as kits.

Actually, here’s a previous question which asked the same thing, and there are lots of good links in the answers:

You may not want to buy something like that to be able to do it though. Lots of things can be put into a regular balloon however, especially if you stretch the neck over some kind of rigid ring or circle shape (or part of something else) so that you can drop things into it before it’s blown up.

One of the things I did with kids once was to have them put two coins (I think it was dimes) inside a balloon, then blow it up. By quickly rotating the balloon in various directions, you can get quite interesting rolling coins going on in there, making fun sounds too! (think we used med to large balloons in as round a shape as possible)

You could turn something like that into a Valentine project by having them draw on the balloon first with permanent markers… when blown up, the designs will be less dense, but still be there. Or you can glue things to the outside of blown up balloons with a glue gun as long as you use the low melt guns… if you have only the high melt guns, just apply the hot glue to the item to be attached then let it cool down a few seconds before touching the rubber of the balloons.

For large items (like a teddy bear) you need special equipment – ask at a party store.

For small items (confetti, high bounce balls, quarter machine prizes) you can just place them inside a regular balloon (stretch the neck and be careful not to place anything sharp in or you’ll tear the balloon) and blow them up. This makes great prizes for Kid’s parties.
