How do I facilitate a scrapbooking activity for 20 or so second grade girls?

Since I love to take pics and scrapbook, I volunteered to be the “scrapbook person” for my daughter’s Brownie troop. I have no freaking clue how to do this with a group! Help!
I have taken pics over the past few months of the Brownies’ activities and that is to be the theme.

edit :sound like you have a good idea on the theme then i would have them bring in items they would like to add to there scapebook

Edit to Stacy if you can not at lest post som
ething helpful then don’t post , reason user come here is for
help and ideas not negative attitudes from users like you.

Scrapbooking ideas for kids are only limited by their imagination in what they collect and use, from photos, to news clippings, souvenir programs from concerts, hair ribbons, ticket stubs from movies and more. They can even make mini scrapbooks of things like a visit to Grandma’s, and give it to her as a Christmas present.

Have each brownie complete their own “page”.
Provide cardstock, scrapbooking papers, odds and
ends and various photos from which to choose. Provide those special scissors, glue sticks and
    then watch the fun begin.

first off u can supply scissors, glue (acid free),tape, some colored paper, glidder, stickers, paper puncher, and stapler. Have the girls each bring pictures of there own, things of meaning(special ribbons, tickets, ect.), any stickers of there own they want, markers, pens fabric if they want that. Make sure they all get some kind of cover too.
make sure the main things are set in the middle of the table for easy access. If u are having snacks too make sure that food and drinks are done at a separate table so there are no accidents. Hope this helps alot.

First, organize on a piece of “scrap” paper (no pun). Put together a list of what each girl will need-are you providing the supplies or do they have to bring their own? You might even ask the girls to volunteer on some type of committee: set up, clean up, refreshments etc.
If the girls haven’t scrapbooked before, first explain to them a general idea and let them create.
Have fun! Oh and Stacey….I agree with the rest.

I would personally set it up just like a class you would take at your local scrapbook store. Make an example page, then make page kits with everything they will need to make the same page. Then just walk them thru it all. Maybe do some fun things like distressing and paper tearing too so that they are not just putting stickers on paper and then done :)

Other posters have good ideas. It might be a good idea to have one or two other adults helping with cutting, gluing, pasting, etc.

Wow, what a fun idea…and an ambitious undertaking. One thing that you can do is visit your local Michaels, Target or scrapbook store and get a mini-album the size of a greeting card. Sometimes Michaels has them on sale for between $3-6 dollars each and they come in many colors. You can decorate the outside of them as well as the pages inside (usually just 2-4) with copies of the pictures you have taken, making sure that you also have a group shot that can be put on the front (most of these little albums have a place to put a picture). Little girls love pink and purple and they love gluing flowers and rhinestones to the covers and inside next to the pictures. Make sure to get some little glue-sticks for them to use because liquid glue will be too messy and hard to manage for second graders! Good luck to you! Hedda
