How could I make this necklace?

I want to make something like this..out of some hard material.
I don’t want to spend tons of money on it.
It’s more of a fun craft project. But I want to make it look just like that.
What material could I use? What tools could I use to smoothen and make the sharp edges? Could I possibly use recycled material out of metal and paint it? Glass? Anything…
Throw something out at me!
