How can I transfer images onto felt?
I’ve recently begun embroidering on wool felt for various craft-work. I’ve been hand drawing the designs on with a disappearing marker but I would like to work on more detailed designs that are hard to draw freehand. The felt is too thick to use a light-box to trace the design on, and I’ve tried using transfer paper but the carbon/chalk won’t stick to the felt. Does anyone have any other ideas I can try?

Have you tried to draw on the dull side of freezer paper, then press the glossy side to the material?
You can then perforate the drawing and do a thread tracing. Remove the FP and then embroider.
There is also water soluble stabilizer for machine embroidery that may be helpful for hand embroidery as well. Draw, embroidery and then dip in warm water to dissolve the stabilizer.
