the dayu-type dolls are pretty simple to make. just take a strong wire or match-stick, etc. for the skeleton – have it in the shape of a cross. tie some cotton wool over it to give it padding. for head, use a round ball of the size you desire. then just keep winding a thick string all around to cover the padding & to get the criss-cross effect as well as reinforce the skeleton. snip off & glue or turn the cut thread under when you are satisfied with your handiwork. embellish/adorn as desired.
