How can I get people to purchase my Jewellery and Art?
I have been running my own art and craft business for a couple of years now alongside other part time jobs.
I specialise in commission art (pet portraiture, equine, feline & canine) and hand made jewellery, and commission jewellery ( you have an item of clothing or special occassion, can’t find jewellery to suit? I design pieces to your exact requirements)
I have a website: www.daisygirlartanddesign.com
I offer discounts and regular offers
I have a facebook page with growing number of fans…
I have had a stand at car boots/markets
I have a steady flow of custom but wondered how I could increase it As i would love to be able to do this 100% of the time?
Any suggestions welcomed
Thanks
Rachel

Depending on where you live and what areas are near by…
You should check into gift shops especially in a tourist area. Approach the owner and ask them to deal with you. They can display your art and jewelry and you can make a sign for it and they can advertise for you that you are a local artist.
You can also look into owning your own store too. I know 2 couples: one couple built a heated barn on their property for their antique and local artist shop, and the other couple have an antique business in a shed in their back yard. You can turn garages, basements, an extra extention/room into a store right in your own home. If you don’t have that extra space, you can look into government funding to start your own business and you can look for a small place that you can rent that has the opportunity for you to buy later down the road.
Good luck!
Have you considered selling on http://etsy.com or http://artfire.com these are further opportunities for you.
Try doing a home show in either your home or a friends–especially after October, when people are buying holiday gifts! If a friend could host it for you, you will be able to concentrate on selling/networking.
Another thing that has worked well for a friend of mine is that she made some wonderful pieces and gave them to friends as gifts…asked them to wear them…and the word spread of how beautiful her work was…from there she got several comissions! It sounds tacky, but word of mouth with an example is great (one friend got so many compliments she actually ordered more!)
Hope everyone’s ideas help!
Good Luck!
