Has anyone ever used iron-on transfers on craft foam?

I have a design I’d like to get onto a craft foam project. Unfortunately, I have no money left until pay day so I have to use what is available to me. I have some ink jet transfer paper and an ink jet printer – with ink! Amazing! I am afraid the foam will melt – I was just wondering if anyone had tried this.

NORMAL transfer paper requires too much heat and will damage the foam.
They DO make a low-temp transfer paper, Or you might use a water-transfer paper where you wet it and “slide” it off into place.

more than likely you will melt the foam if you iron or press the stuff. have you tried just gluing an image on the foam? With some printers you could just print the image directly onto the foam. That’s not going to work with some printers and some of that foam won’t take the ink if you get it to feed through. Hey any thing is worth a try.

You are correct – the foam will melt.

Besides, it is too rough for a transfer of any type to look anything but amateurishly homemade.

You might also be able to transfer the image to fabric, then glue that to your craft foam –like is sometimes done with foam visors:
