Glue, So Many Many Choices?
I want to get a good glue that requires no clamping, few second set time and little site preparation. So what is the best? I looked at a whole wall of glues at the craft store and all claimed to be the best or better. I want to clue things like broken pottery or resins,

Unfortunately, different kinds of glue work best for different materials and situations. (And brands may even offer more than one type of glue, or more than one variation of a single kind of glue). So it can get complicated. It’s best to focus on one situation at a time if you really want the best bond.
First though, check out the various “kinds” of glues here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_glues
and maybe: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adhesive
Also…some glues are also clear or relatively clear when dry, some are colored or will “show,” some strong ones like polyurethanes (Gorilla Glue, etc) will swell while curing (so must be clamped/weighted) while others won’t, some are much stronger than others, some are thick while others thin, some tacky while some not, some are best for porous materials while some are best for non-porous materials, some need the parts to match exactly or are strongest when the stress will be a pulling “apart” stress (like superglues/cyanoacrylates), some are synthetics while some are “natural,” some require good surface preparation (in fact most of them), some take a longer time to dry (or to cure since they don’t “dry”) and some are fairly immediate like hot glues (though not very strong, etc), and etc, etc.
For “pottery” you’ll want a glue that works well on ceramic, which is usually porous unless your cured pottery has been glazed.
For “resin, you might want to use a 2-part epoxy resin glue (one example would be Devcon 2 Ton) though other things could work depending on the exact type of resin and all the other factors mentioned.
