FOR TEMPORARY HOLIDAY WINDOW PAINTING: What is the best thing to add to acrylic craft paint for easy removal?

I seem to remember several options such as adding… dish soap, Ivory Snow flakes (or Dreft), Borax flakes, shaving cream and even less obvious choices such as liquid starch or glycerin! DOES ANYBODY HAVE AN ADDITIVE THAT THEY HAVE USED WITH SUCCESS? I just want to ensure EASY removal of the paint, since it will be applied to French Doors with 30 (8×12) window panes ! Thanks for any input!

I haven’t tried additives to paint before painting windows, but I would think that any additive would cut the drying time, and shaving creme probably wouldn’t totally dry due to the moisturizers in it. Personally I would paint it without adding anything. It does come off well with a plastic scrubber.

I did windows for a decade or so… I used liquid dish soap mixed in at 1 tbsp per pint, but I was using latex paint tinted with acrylics !!

One of the KEY things I always found important was to thoroughly CLEAN the windows first with Windex and a RAZOR blade… get all and any prior paint spot and junk along the trim. Then thoroughly mask. I’d airbrush the “snow” or basic colors into paneled window panes, and detail by hand.

Clean up was a supply of razor blades (in a scraper) and a Shopvac to get it all sucked up.
