Entertainment ideas for kids at a HUGE BBQ?
I am in charge of kids games/entertainment for a big BBQ (aprox 300 families) , and I’m trying to think of some fun things for them to do. Its going to be at a park (unlimited space). We pretty much have unlimited funds (unless you know anyone that wants to donate stuff! Its for troops coming home from Iraq!). Its at the end of June. Any ideas on what I could do? So far I have:
- Renting a bounce house
- Firetruck display
- Waterballon toss
- Kiddies pool full of bubbles with lots of different size wands
- Face painting
- Clowns
- Arts & Crafts table (maybe making sunvisors or face masks)

Probably need something to cool the kids off, too. Maybe rent one ofthe smaller waterslides with the bouncy thing.
Maybe for the older ones have a jello fight. We did that for my neice’s b-day party and it was a blast.
Have the kids cover themselves with a garbage bag and and have zip lock baggies filled with jello. Once everyone is suited up count to 3 and let them go, throwing it at each other.
If you go to a store that carried larger resturant sizes, it’s cheaper.
If the jello does get on the clothes, it usually wont stain.
Also for the little ones, have a coin find. Toss coins, pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters in sawdust and let them find it. Just make sure to put the sawdust on a tarp for easy cleanup!!
