Google crafts for kindergarten through fourth grade and see what comes up. When I helped teach sunday school we did couple crafts with foam shapes (they have them at hobby/craft stores) and made puppets out of paper sacks. The paper sack puppets were alot of fun, altho it seemed kinda cheesy. We bought paper sacks, yarn for hair (in a lot of weird colors) and wiggly eyes and let the kids draw the rest. Since it was sunday school afterwards we had the puppets act out the Bible story.

    hope some of this helped.

the parents magazine this past month (March i believe ya know they always come out a month early) had a really cute flower project you make out of toilet paper rolls. were are going to make them in my daycare.all you do is measure, cut, and paint and i think you use kabob sticks to make the stem. check out http://www.parents.com and it should be up there. its called recycled blooms, however i just checked to make sure but i don’t think that it has been posted just yet with the weekend being the first of the month and all.so here are the basic instruction.

    supply list:
Empty TP rolls – ruler – pencil – scissors(kid friendly) – bamboo skewers – paint(washable) – paintbrushes – tissue paper – green card stock or construction paper

STEP 1 – Draw a 2″ line from the edge of the tube. on both ends. so you should have a little space in between the two lines. from each 2″ ring draw cut lines every 1/2″ snip along each line to make petals.

STEP 2 – Fold petals back to create a flower. paint flower and bamboo skewers and let dry. cut out green leaves and glue to skewers.

STEP 3 – push the skewers through one end of the flowers center until it just touches the other end. Crumple and 8″ square of tissue paper and place in the center.

I like recycled crafts. Turn empty vegetable and tuna cans into desk accessories. Glue on either pretty paper or fabric. Make sure the fabric goes inside a ways to cover up where the lid was cut from the can. If you had imitation leather that would look good too. Pen/pencils cups, tuna cans can hold paper clips.

Paper hand seeder is easy and with spring coming it might be practical too. It is a pagan site so you might not want to tell people that part but the hand seeder is an easy practical project.
