    I made paper bead necklaces with my kids today, aged 5 and 7. One sheet of printer size paper was enough to make a necklace for one kid. They really enjoyed it. We used scrapbooking paper, but it would look just as cool made of magazine pages, sunday comics, or paper the kids colored on. I have included a couple links for instructions. It’s a great craft because it requires minimal- and very cheap- supplies.
    The link to Family Fun website also has tons of other great ideas if this one doesn’t work for you.
    Good luck, and blessings to you or taking on such a good cause.

    Here are a few ideas……
    You could >>>>
    * Paint T-Shirts, or *Dream Pillow-Cases.
    They could do their hand-print, and add a special word and their name. (Sometimes the children might just have an old T-Shirt with a stain….Hand print covers it. ) Makes crafting fun and teaches the kids to refurbish… something old into something new.
    (You can turn Acrylic paints into fabric paints by using a product called ….”Textile Medium by Delta”.)
    * Paint Rocks , or * Paper Plate Crafts, *Construction Paper Projects… to decorate containers.
    Hope these ideas help to stir your creativity and the childrens .

    You can use those balloons too!!!
    Run a string through a drinking straw and blow up the balloon and tape it to the straw and release the air and enjoy the race down the string! Be sure that you tie the string between two uprights at a level that the the children can reach to easily. The fun part will be decorating the balloons! Arts and craft! PRESTO!

    Also science makes wonderful Arts and Crafts Ideas! Put milk in a can and role it around on the ground or floor to make butter or Ice cream or anything like that. show how to make a squat gun using any hollow tubing such as bamboo for some good wet fun. children can get really creative and make some wonderful art work with almost anything!
    Water wheels and or pinwheels can be fun too!
    That will teach them about alternative power sources! Wind and Water power! why not make Arts and Crafts something they can use in life???
    To me the main thing would be to be as creative as can be and to look for things that they will enjoy and remember for a life time! Maybe even something they can use to improve there standard of living.
    Who know? Maybe you will inspire the next great inventor or a great person in history!!!!!
    Your friend eternally

    Here is a site for kids crafts you might want to look through and find something reasonable for you to get and for them to enjoy and something you can carry down there. Also check the site for “Crafts for Kids” There are so many there I cannot list them all.
