does craft glue really take 24 horus to dry?
So, i am a bit behind in my halloween costume… how long does it really take fabric glue to dry? i don’t plan on washing this early, but i have to wear this tomorrow night and i am kind of tired. i was hoping i could pick it back up ion the AM and have it realy like 8-12 horus later
the bottle says i can wash the outfit after 10 days for the glue to set…. so it can be washed eventually. i just want to make sure parts of my costume won’t be popping off tomorrow or when i am finishing the hems….

Usually fabric glue will dry about few hours, but if you let it dry 24 hours it might be better, stronger I think. You should not wash it, it will come apart when wet.
White glue (which is what fabric glue is, with a bit of textile medium in it to keep it more supple) will dry in a few hours depending on how thickly it’s applied and how porous the materials are that it’s joining together (use a fan if you have one to speed up the drying, and avoid humid areas).
Even though the glue will “dry,” it won’t fully *cure* for a week or so. That’s why you shouldn’t wash it until then. Dried white glue is fairly waterproof but will be even more so, and create a stronger bond, after it cures.
The glue should be reasonably strong in 8 hrs though as long as it’s not being stressed a whole lot. You could also use back-up things like small safety pins or iron-on adhesive webbing or even hot glue *along with* the white glue or between parts of it if you want even more reassurance for stressed areas.
