Different way to make a fashion scarf?

I just talked to a friend in North Pole, Alaska, who told me about this lady at a craft show who made fashion scarves with thin, glittery yarn by swirling it around and pressing it with some type of paper, which makes it stick like that permanently even if you wash it. My friend said these scarves were really cute, but she couldn’t hear what the lady was saying so she didn’t know exactly how she made the scarves. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? I’m curious as to how to do that now. Thanks much!
I talked to my friend and she said fusible web sounds about right. I’ll look into it, thanks!

It sounds like she used a sheet of fusible web which can be purchased by the yard at fabric stores and in the fabric department of places like Walmart.

I saw something like that on one of those shop at home channels, but I don’t remember what it is called. I would check your local craft store for more info.
