did u ever go to a craft camp when u were little? do u remember any specific crafts from it?

i remember one where we made crayon shavings and the leader melted them between sheets of wax paper. then we cut a butterfly shape out from the center of a piece of black paper and set it on top to show the pretty colors of the melted crayons in the middle as the wings n body of the butterfly. it was a lot of fun and turned out really cool. are there any crafts u remember from any camp u went to?
well, with that crap attitude im sure nobody wanted u in their craft camp anyway evil female :)

When I went ot camp we always had thease kits, that had activites for us to make. My favrot thing that I ever made was a Veggie leather (plastic leather) Coin Purse. it ws a rectangel we folded in 3ed’s and punched holes with a leather punch, and than laced up the sides. we put a snap on it too. I still have mine I made it like over 15 years ago adn its still my favrot change purse.

Mine wasn’t a “craft camp” but I think all kids camps have crafts as part of their activities. The item I remember liking the most was a bottle cap snake.

We had to bring a set amount of bottle caps (like off a beer bottle or soda bottle). We then spray painted them different colors and hammered a nail through the middle of each cap & strung them to a length of approximately 2 feet. The end pieces were knotted and we made a clay head & tail that we painted. The bottlecaps flexed like a snake and it looked really cool!

Thanks for the great memory of camp!

I had Girl Scout camp & we made tons of fun things like:

-an outdoor lantern made of a tin can with holes punched into it in some cute design, so the candle’s light inside would show thru the holes.

-potato stamps…we took 1/2 a potato & carved a design into the cut 1/2, leaving a heart or star shape sticking out to stamp with (basically like any rubber stamp would look, but carved out of a potato)

-Ivory soap carvings…take a bar of ivory soap, room temperature or heated alittle in the sun. carve like wood, but with a plastic picnic knife. Messy, clean fun!

    -Lanyards…lots of those.

-Gravestone rubbings…a bit morbid, but spooky graveyard fun for kids. Take construction paper & chalk, find a gravestone with a cool design, put the paper over design & shade the chalk over it, leaving an imprint on the paper.

i learned to do leatherwork and ceramics at camp, leather was at 4 h camp and ceramics was at a girl scout camp. i learned woodcarving at scout camp too, we made spoons. a few years ago i carved myself a walking staff with a unicorn and a bird on it, so things do progress.
