Craft help: sticking a photo to the frame.?

I am making a gift for someone using a wooden shadow box type picture frame. i am decorating the inside back of it, and i was going to put the picture in on top of that. But, I decided it would be neat if i could somehow get the picture to stay directly on the glass from the inside, instead of up against the back of it.
My question is: Is there a way to get the picture to stick on the glass without it looking messy? I would have to stick it to the glass of the frame from the front of the picture, so I can’t use globs of glue or anything. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

You might want to experiment with this idea before you try it on the real thing.

I have used a craft glue called Mod Podge. It is available in matte or gloss finish, I use matte. I have used this to adhere photos to the back of glass pepples for fridge magnets (gluing the photo side to the pepple so that it shows thru the glass). It dries clear.

You should be able to find this glue at any craft store.
